whatsapp with google voice number

I'd like one turn that folks connected WhatsApp and LINE can utilize. How do I do this with Google Voice? Would IT work better if I switch to a Skype number?

I just retried it with my google part numeral and IT worked with an sms check, atomic number 102 problems. i'm in the US now so maybe location has something weird to do with it? only IT's discriminate to have my whatsapp temporary with my permanent number vs changing information technology every last the time and never knowing what my number is since information technology's from a SIM i had months past. lol

Only did it with a Skype come. There is the option to call the newly to personify registered whatapp number to get the activating code - nobelium SMS requisite. Worked like a charme for ME.

I just tried this and yeah didn't seem to work. Google Vocalize works for all but substantiation stuff generally, 98% of the clock I'd say – but services that base their entire user system around phone numbers racket e.g. WhatsApp tend to make sure as shootin that the enumerate ISN't a VOIP numerate. Cookie-cutter with signing up for Google Voice itself.

I didn't get the call from WhatsApp when I live on tried a few months ago. I guess I'll try again; information technology'd be cool if it's working for all Google Vocalism numbers now. It's bad unclear for people when I tell them my WhatsApp number is completely unusual than the number I use for SMS and calling.

Just to throw a little more data knocked out there, I tried and true two other messaging apps recently. KakaoTalk recognized my Google Vocalize number as VOIP and said information technology had frozen my account for registering with a non-physical count! (After reinstalling the app with a new SIM, I was able to cross-file just fine using my new "real" enumerate.) Telegram also refused to let Maine register exploitation my Google Voice number, recognizing it as a virtual phone number.

I tried ahead to use a Google Sound number with WhatsApp, just it didn't work (2015). Just time-tested once again, and it worked just fine. WhatsApp won't Be able to send you an SMS, but you can request a call with the substantiation digits and it should work.

Haven't been able to set out WhatsApp to work with my Google Voice number, but I was able to make Viber working with no job, using the SMS verification computer code.

worked for me more than once (as recently as a few months back). i don't use Line, just textbook and WA. my Skype kayoed number is my google voice number. for calls to US, i use google hangouts.

at Google Vocalism, while you are choosing a act, GV will show you a list of numbers that are available in the area code you trust… don't option some specific number just yet.

have WhatsApp working, and try to register a new turn (it will prompt for your new number, then tell you it's not valid, OR if it's legal, that IT wish send a message to that).

if it's a no more go, select another serial publication, eg 212 555 6xxx doesn't work, try 555 7xxx or 556 0xxx (from the list you are shown along google voice). Beaver State select a different area write in code (646?) and try once more.

it's a matter of time before you find one that WA volition accept. WA testament send you a subject matter, and i recall a confirmation before it does so (after accepting the turn). before hitting OK, register the turn on google interpreter before proceeding.

i suppose if i had to use Course, i would then run line and try it too before registering the number. worked for me one leash occasions although it does take just about time to solve what currently works (or not). i think i expended about 15 minutes on my most recent try.

What I do is buying a local pre-paid SIM and put it in my smartphone. Since WhatsApp is already verificated I can persist in using their table service with my main Dutch number (so doesn't have to be the SIM's phone number).

Then I have a second smartphone wherein I put down my Dutch SIM and forward calls to my topical anaestheti number.

You can now get sms to your google voice, the text message will point in your google hangouts, have you tried verifiiyng IT that style?
Whatsapp will send you an sms and past put the code that you enter hangouts into whatsapp

You've been able to do that for a while however Whatsapp & Line generally does non recognise the google phone number atomic number 3 being a valid number.

Let USA know how it goes @kmander. I looked it into it concisely then decided to just not use WhatsApp.

I'm experimenting with using Twilio. A practical number that you give notice so forward inbound SMSs to your email.

@wanderingdev Tried that and it'd didn't work. I think I'm just going to give informed WhatsApp and Cable. If people need to get through me, I'm happening Facebook and Twitter.

I've just been acquiring a new account with each telephone number and so I can communicate with the locals. if they're locals I privation to keep in in affect with we loosely link on FB before I leave so derriere communicate that right smart subsequently I'm gone.

Google Voice and most early realistic numbers pool don't let you take in confirmation numbers from messaging apps or web services.

Or maybe it's the other way of life just about. These apps desire to confirm your add up to avoid Spam, indeed they need real actual human registered numbers racket. Thusly they block virtual numbers.

Oh just a national cheap SIM carrier, in my case that's http://simyo.nl, but your ain country probably has a related one.

I have no trouble victimization WhatsApp with my Google Vocalize number, or with receiving substantiation codes from to the highest degree services and companies (e.g. banks.)

I did however, port over my old U.S. cellphone number to Google Vocalise several geezerhood ago, just in case that might have something to do with it.
